Cross Account Transfer

The Cross Account Transfer feature allows business users to transfer funds to accounts (i.e., a checking or savings account) in which they have no ownership interest. Funds may be transferred in real time, for future-dated transfers, or for recurring transfers.

  • Your financial institution must purchase the Cross Account Transfer add on module.

  • The receiving account must be established as a cross account in the online banking system to make cross transfers.

  • Cross transfer accounts can only be set up by a System Administrator.
  • You cannot view balances and other details related to cross accounts. You can only view the available balance for the accounts listed in the From Account field on the initial transfer page. If an account has a negative balance, the amount displays in parentheses, for example, (272.64).

  1. Click the Cash Management tab at the top of any online banking page and select the [Cross Account Transfers] navigation link.

    Note: The name of the [Cross Account Transfers] navigation link varies, as it is defined by the System Administrator.

    1. If the System Administrator has not set up any cross transfer accounts, a popup displays with a message to contact the financial institution to complete setup.

    2. If the System Administrator has set up accounts, select one of your accounts from the From Account dropdown list and a cross transfer account from the To Account dropdown list.

  2. When the Transfer to an account that is not yours page displays without an error message, do the following:

  3. To set up an immediate one-time cross account transfer, click the One Time Immediately tab.:

    1. Select the business account from which funds will be withdrawn in the From Account dropdown.

      2. Note: Only the types of accounts that support transfers as defined by your financial institution display in the From Account and To Account lists.

    2. Select the cross transfer account to which funds will be deposited in the To Account dropdown.

    3. Type the Amount of the transfer in dollars (and cents if appropriate). You cannot enter a dollar sign.

    4. If appropriate, type an optional description for the transfer transaction in the Additional Transaction Description field.

    5. Type your Password, if shown.

    6. Go to step 6.

  4. To set up a future one-time cross account transfer, click the One Time in the Future tab.

    1. Select the business account from which funds will be withdrawn in the From Account dropdown.

    2. Select the cross transfer account to which funds will be deposited in the To Account dropdown.

      3. Note: Only the types of accounts that support transfers as defined by your financial institution display in the From Account and To Account lists.

    3. Type the Amount of the transfer in dollars (and cents if appropriate). You cannot enter a dollar sign.

    4. Type the date in the mm/dd/yyyy format or use the calendar icon for the On this date field to specify date cross account transfer should occur.

    5. If appropriate, type an optional description for the transfer transaction in the Additional Transaction Description field.

    6. Type your Password, if shown.

    7. Go to step 6.

  5. To set up a recurring cross account transfer, click the Recurring tab.

    1. Select the business account from which funds will be withdrawn in the From Account dropdown.

    2. Select the cross transfer account to which funds will be deposited in the To Account dropdown.

      3. Note: Only the types of accounts that support transfers as defined by your financial institution display in the From Account and To Account lists.

    1. Type the Amount of the transfer in dollars (and cents if appropriate). You cannot enter a dollar sign.

    2. Select the frequency for the cross account transfer in the Frequency dropdown.

    3. Type the date in the mm/dd/yyyy format or use the calendar icon in the Starts field to specify the start date for the recurring cross account transfer.

    4. If appropriate, type an optional description for the transfer transaction in the Additional Transaction Description field.

    5. In the Ends field, either select:

      • Never to manually stop the recurring cross account transfer.

      • After radio button and designate the number of recurring cross account transfers to occur.

    6. Type your Password, if shown.

    7. Go to step 6.

  6. Click Continue to request the transfer or Cancel to go to the Accounts Overview page.

  7. Click Confirm & Transfer to confirm the transfer, Edit to return to the Transfer to an account that is not yours page to review/change the transfer data, or Cancel to return to a cleared Transfer to an account that is not yours page.

  8. If the transfer was successful, “Transfer Complete” displays above the transfer date. You may perform one of the following:

    1. Click Make another Transfer and repeat Steps 2 and 3 to make another transfer.

    2. Click View All Scheduled to view the Scheduled Transfers page listing all of your scheduled fund transfers.

  9. If the transfer is unsuccessful, “Transfer NOT Completed” displays with a detailed error message. You may perform one of the following:

    1. Click Edit to return to the Transfer to an account that is not yours page and change the transfer data.

    1. Click Make Another Transfer to go to a cleared Transfer to an account that is not yours page and enter data for a new transfer.

    2. Click View All Scheduled to view the Scheduled Transfers page.
